A Successful application will depend upon:

​1) Available space.
2) Results of our assessment of the learner.
3) Siblings attending Simond. (considered, however, does not guarantee acceptance)
4) Results from previous school/s (excl. Gr. R applications).

Application Process


Download and complete the application documents found below.

Submit the completed documents by email or by hand.
(please include: birth certificate, latest report and other assessment reports, reference letter from church)
– Your child will then be invited for an assessment.
– Parents will also be interviewed.
– On acceptance, pay the initiation Fee.
– Send the proof of payment to administration via email, fax or delivery to Reception.
– Placement will then be confirmed in August or August/September.
– Maximum of 20 learners per class

Please note: Assessments are conducted after the close of applications, acceptance is thus not first-come-first-served.

Grade R

– Assessments for placement in Gr. R takes place during the second half of the year.
– Parents will be interviewed.
– Parents will be notified regarding the result of the assessment.
– The initiation fee will be required to confirm acceptance of placement.

Foundation, Intermediate Phase and College

– Upon receiving an application, parents will be notified regarding the assessment date for the learner.
– Parents may also be invited for an interview.
– Notification regarding the outcome of the application will be communicated after assessments/interviews.
– The payment of the initiation fee confirms acceptance of a place offered.

An application consists of the following documents:

– a completed application document (incl. required supporting documents)
– a completed and signed debit order mandate
– a completed letter of acceptance
– a letter of reference from your minister, pastor, priest or reverend.
